Handling and Movement Session. Aim to expose GKs to game-realistic situations and encourage good habits for games i.e. efficient movement, shortest path to the ball, see the picture and set at the correct time.

Set up/Organisation/Description:
- Central gate set up 4-6 yards from goal line
- Feeder 1 central roughly 10 yards out
- Feeder 2 on by line
- Feeder 3 on edge of box, opposite side to feeder 2
- Feeder 3 has mannequin 5 yards in front of starting position
Instructions/Explanations:
- Goalkeeper starts at red gate and recovers to goal line to take feed from server 1 (Strike from floor)
- GK moves and sets at front post area for cut back from feeder 2
- GK moves across goal to feeder 3
- Feeder 3 dribbles to mannequin, performs skill move and can then cut in and shoot on the angle or go outside and strike
- Work for 4 reps then rotate
- Complete from opposite side by switching sides of feeder 2 and 3
- Rebounds are live
Coaching points/learning objectives
- Effective movement; Quick across goal then smaller steps, feet light to floor when approaching the ball
- Quickest route to the ball
- Constantly seeing the picture to identify triggers on when to set
- Coach handling technique/ decision making/ positioning if required
Progression(s)
- Feeder 1 can challenge the cutback from feeder 2 (gives GK decision to attack the cut back or readjust and stay big to block)
- Feeder 3 can go outside to by line and cut back for feeder running in
- Feeder 3 can cut in and pass to feeder 1 for strike or play 1-2 with feeder 1 then shoot

Set up/Organisation/Description:
- 3 Feeders operating across width of box
- Paint picture for GK (LB, CB, RB)
- Pivot player playing higher (CDM) and moving across line
Instructions/Explanations:
- Ball starts with GK who initially plays pass out to CDM
- CDM can then can have 3 touches to drive in and strike on goal
- CDM can also pass to any of the 3 players infront of him
- These players can then strike at goal or play a combination of passes i.e. RW plays 1-2 with striker then shoots
Coaching points/learning objectives
- Explain the picture and how it flips (In possession the players are RB, CB, LB, CDM however out of possession they become RW, Striker, LW, CAM
- Effective and quick movements to stay in line with ball during combinations
- Must slow movement and set when player is about to strike the ball
- Look for visual triggers i.e. shifting ball out feet towards goal
- Decision making on handling technique and distance from goal i.e. coming to collect/ block/ drop deep to make save
Progression(s)
- CB becomes a defender and adds active pressure to create 3v1 CAM, LW and RW. If CB wins ball his aim is to try and dribble over red end line to score a point

Set up/Organisation/Description:
Instructions/Explanations:
- 1/2 7-Aside pitch
- 2x Samba goals positioned facing diagonally inwards near half way line at each side
- Coach positioned between 2 with pile of balls
- 2V2 game with floater player to create overload
Coaching points/learning objectives
- Coach feeds ball through to goalkeeper
- GK plays with attacking team trying to score into mini goals
- If blue team win the ball they attack the main goal
- Highest score wins
Progression(s)
- Attacking team have 10 seconds to register shot on goal or turn over possession (Must be quick and direct to move GK and get shots away)

Handling Warm Up (15 mins)
Set up/Organisation/Description:
- 3 feeders with ball in hand
- Feeder 1 on by line, Feeder 2 central to goal, Feeder 3 on diagonal
- All feeders 8-10 yards out
- Rotate after 9 feeds
- Once every GK been in, work out of opposite side
Instructions/Explanations:
- Goalkeeper takes volley into the bubble from each feeder
- Starts within frame of goal, moves to feeder 1, across goal to feeder 2 and then finishes at feeder 3
Coaching points/learning objectives
- Effective and quickest movement, no extra steps
- Head up constantly seeing the picture
- Effective set position as soon as feeder drops ball from hands (Even if out of position)
- Decision making on handling technique
Progression(s)
- Feeder 3 drops back and can vary feeds (Strike from floor, 1/2 volley, side volley)
- Feeder 3 can play 1-2 with feeder 1 or 2 for strike or can play to feeder 1 to cut back for feeder 2 and 3
