U10 G - Chilli Peppers. Build up play, Connecting with our midfielders.

Organization:
- Ideal scenario would be to use a regular size field, players can use the lines to identify starting positions.
- Coach will set up poles to show starting positions, Cones will be set up as weel to indicate where to check in to reciave the ball.
- Also use natural lines as reference.
Instructions:
- This week we will keep on working on building our of the back and how to connect with our midfielders.
- Both center midfielder will identify the triggers to move to and check in to recieve the ball with time and space.
- There will be a few markers on the field to help players identify where we can to recieve the ball and where we want to go next.
Coaching Points:
- Identify the triggers to start moving. For example, as the ball travels to our right or left back, midfielders will then start to shift to that side creating a triangle with good angle of passes.
- Starting position to recieve the ball and get a good touch will be extremely important.
- We will work on 2 movements. First we will work on getting the pass in the middle to then go out wide as shown in diagram.
Progressions:
- If players are performing well we can give them an option to play to our center back then then go out wide.
- Add defenders to pressure our build up play .
- Give other passing options.

Organization:
- Same as previos, set up as shown in diagram.
Instructions:
- This drill requires the same movements and triggers as previous drill.
- On this part of the exercise we will pass the ball out wide first and then try to get a give and go combination to go forwards.
- Add 3 defenders to put pressure on our build up play.
- After a few combinations we can add all 6 players.
Coaching Points:
- Triggers to start movements are extremely important. As the ball travels players should start moving into space, delay run if necessary.
- entire team starts to shift to the side where the ball is.
- Once our midfielder gets the ball, the other midfielder should check in to recieve the ball and be ready to play a give and go combination.
- Give players an option to play forwards if possible. Striker will finish with a shot every time.
Progressions:
- Add all 6 players for the opposite team.
- Play a defense vs offense game, If one team scores through a build up combination play, that will count for 5 points.

Organization:
Use the entire field to play a regular match.
Use build up line
Instructions:
- 7 vs 7 game.
- Must make at least 4 passes before scoring.
- Goal out of a build up play counts for 5 pts.
Coaching Points:
- try to use combinations learned in the match.
- Observe if either team is having success building out of the back and connecting with midfield players.
Progressions:
- Add or decrease players according to progress.
