Set up
Two teams, to score a point, you must pass through a gate. Cannot pass through the same gate in a row.
Progressions - If you pass through all the gates (or any number) without losing possession, you can score in either goal. - 3 Touches
Coaching Points
- Look for the next pass before you have received the ball, SCAN, adjust the body to the correct position
- Look for open areas to run or pass into. - Don't rush to score a point; keep the ball and create good opportunities.
- Minimise touches on the ball, pass at the earliest point
Problem/Solutions
P - Possession keeps being lost quickly. S - All players in the team in possession must make sure they are getting space quickly, so they are options for a pass.

Set-Up
All players in a suitable area. Select a small number to be CM (Whites). Everyone is constantly moving around the pitch, finding new open spaces. Half of the blue players start with a ball and pass to one of the CM players, who then look to find another blue and give before finding a new player to receive a pass from.
Progression - Centre Midfielders have only 3/2 touches - Midfielders must make a sharp change of direction when receiving
Coaching Points
- Look for the next pass before you have received the ball, SCAN, adjust the body to the correct position
- Don't stand still; always move into new positions.
- Types of passes, through ball, outside pass, disguised pass etc.
Q - Why do we need to change direction when receiving? A - In this case, we want to act as if a defender is attempting to win the ball, so change direction to evade the defender.
