1v1 Goals Facing (15 mins)
Set up: As shown. Two teams with Gkers eveyone with a ball. Goals facing each other. The distance depends on the ability and athleticism of the players.
Instructions: The blue attacker goes to goal, while the red defender tries to stop him or her. Once the attack is finished, the blue attacker immediately becomes the defender for the next red attacker (2). Th attacker always transitions to defend the next attack. The defender rejoins the line. Should the defender win the ball, she or he plays the ball into one of the mini target goals as quickly as possible.
Coaching Points: Attack with speed. Exploit the available space. One good move is better than 7 moves. Try not to unbalance yourself out of good transition to defending position. Transition to D as quickly as possible. Use proper finishing technique. Monitor work to rest ration to ensure that it complies with the phase of training.
