With this set up, Red 2 will look to make a run into the shaded area behind the defender he is matched up against.

Red 1 will make the pass to Red 3 on the opposite wing and then will act as defensive cover moving towards the centre to offer support to Red 3 but also to occupy the middle of the court.

Red 4 will also move a little deeper on the wing to offer an out pass should Red 3 play back to Red 1 in the middle of the court.

This should allow a passing lane to open up with Red 3 being able to pass the ball into the space that Red 2 is running into.

Red 1 must take a central position on the court to offer defensive balance and cover with Red 4 also dropping deeper to allow an opposite wing pass if Red 3 decides to pass back to Red 1 in the middle of the court.

Opposite view.

Red 2 has broken the defensive lines with his run and receives the pass from Red 2.

Red 1 and Red 4 have taken up their new positions and now Red 3 must make a run towards the area between the 6 and 10 metre penalty spots to offer offensive support.

With Red 2 now 1v1 with the GK, he must try and feint/shoot to score with Red 3 offering offensive support.
