Set Up

Players stand back to back to each other, with a soccer ball between

Instructions

Coach calls out parts of the body and point to them, speed up and try to catch the players out by calling wrong body parts

Whenever the coach shouts ball, players must try and grab the ball through the legs

Ball Mastery Foot skills Push Push Laces.

Purpose: To improve touch control, confidence, and balance while manipulating the ball qith various foot surfaces

Set Up. Each player has a ball with a 20 x 20 grid, ensure players have plenty of space.

Instructions; Players pull the ball back with their sole and push the ball away with the laces of the same foot, then alternate to the opposite foot, Push - push laces

Players emphasis; Focus on staying low for balance and concetrate on soft touches

Coaching emphasis: make these exercises competitive by encouraging players to increase the amount of touches in each sequence.

Ball Mastery, Passing and Receiving

Purpose

To improve touch, control, confidence and balance while manipulating the ball with various foot surfaces, while intergrating passing and receiving skills into this sequence

Set Up;

Players for small groups in each corner of the 10x10 meter area, with a ball in each small group.

Instructions:

Four players using laces of the same foot, moving steadily towards the center space. Using an inside push pass is given to the next player from the adjacent corner. Each player sprints quickly, following their pass to the next line

Players Tip

Focus on staying low for balance and concentrate on soft touches. Control the ball, not the ball controlling the player

Coaches Tip:

Make these exercises competitive by encouraging players to increease the amount of touches in each sequence. Coaches can instruct players to focus on various mastery exercises

Small Sided Games 2v2 3v3

Ensure coaches have plenty of soccer balls on hand to maintain the temp of the game

Rotate to ensure all players play in 2v2 and 3v3 game sitution

Set Up

Set up two fields 20m x 15 m with goals at each end.

Emphasis

High tempo

This is a free game which should stimulate expression, initiative and the creativity of the players.

Encourage the players to take each other on and run into space to score.

The aim is develop their technique and individual tatical play

Encourage players to use the dribbling techniques they have learn
