Setup: 30y x 30y grid with 2 triangles in the middle 3/4y. Extra balls on outside for a quick restart - have them chase balls when switching defenders.
Drill: 4 or 5 v 2 with the goal of "splitting" the triangle. Defender can not enter or pass throug the triangle. Attackers can and should move.
Organization: 60 seconds on for each defencer in the middle working to prevent the through ball. Attackers should be positioned with propper body shape and spacing to play a quick ball.
Objective: This progression adds the ability to start to switch the point of attack and move into space. Some other progressions are limiting a score (pass through triangle) by preventing them from scoring in the same triangle twice in a row without changing the point of attack and moving the ball over the center line (blue line) before coming back. Another would be to allow 5 passes in a row to count as a point if the team is struggling

Setup: Half field with mini goals on flanks for defenders to score into.
Drill: Formation above working out of the 3-5-2 for both sides
Organization: Blue attacking main goal, must move the ball to a wide channel before scoring. If sucessful progress to entering both wide channels before scoring.
Objective: Switching the point of attack while working for formation positioning and understanding - adding in the focus of overloads and movement off the ball to create them.
