Technical Game: Stadium Game (15 mins)

INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Players are split up into two teams and given stadiums. 
  • To win the game the players must have all 4 balls in their home stadium in control.
  • Round 1: No Gates, if the defender wins the ball they can transfer over to their home stadium without going through the gates. Players must score a goal when they enter their home stadium, pick the ball up from the goal and then look to keep it in their home stadium. 
  • Round 2: Gates. Players must go through a gate to get back to their home stadium.
  • PROGRESSION
    • After holding the ball in their own stadium without losing it for 10 seconds, players can score in the goal at the opposite end

  • Size of stadium - is it forcing protecting of the ball?

Tactical Game: Tornado (20 mins)

INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Startexercise with a 2v1
  • The when a team concedes, their next teammate joins by dribbling in
  • e.g. 
    • if the blue team scores, a yellow enters for a 2v2
    • if the yellow team scores, a blue enters for a 3v1
  • If the ball goes out of play, the coach triggers a new player to dribble in  

COACHING CONSIDERATIONS:

  • Makesure the game is continuous and high in intensity
  • Retaincontinuity once all players are on
