Organisation (Practice Layout & Transition)
Half a pitch to work with gave a lot of space to set exercises up. Exercise 1 only required a small amount of cones and was easily set up. Could also be left during practice or picked up. Exercise 2 had the most set up required, outside and zones had to be coned out and 4 mini goals needed adding to the practice. These were set up before the session and kept to the side. Cone pickup between exercise 2 and 3 took a couple of minutes and was done during a drinks break. Exercise three needed 2 more mini goal (also kept to the side ready to go) and a few cones to line the channels from the 18 yard box up to the half way line.
Transitions were relatively smooth, only exercise 2 took a significant amount of time to transition into and out of. Other versions of this exercise are available to use but I was keen to test this one out.

Transition Game
- Red team are attacking team, Blues are defenders.
- Reds begin with the ball in the top zone in a 3v2 situation. Reds must move the ball in the top zone, while the 2 red players in the bottom zone move around to create space to receive the ball
- Reds in the top square must then transfer the ball to the Reds in the bottom zone, where they play 2v2 to score a goal.
- If the Blues win the ball back in either the top or bottom zone, they can score a goal in any of the 4 mini goals.
Adaptations (Progressions & Regressions):
Regression:

- When Red in bottom zone receives, they play 2v1 or 1v1 rather than 2v2
- Defenders cannot score, only intercept
Progression:
- Add players for 3v3 in bottom zone
- Add time limit/pass limit to transfer ball from top zone
- Add time limit/pass limit to score in bottom zone
