Progressions From Knees to Standing Up
Set Up: GK starts on his knees.
A. GK does 10 reps on the ground with scoops.
B. GK receives 10 reps from the ground to his hands in contour catch
C. GK receives 6 reps starting on the ground to the right and alternating to the left
D. GK receives 6 reps middle height starting on the right and alternating to the left
Set Up: GK now stands up
A. GK does 4 reps on the ground as front smother
B. GK receives 10-15 volleys to the hands
C. GK receives 6 reps on the ground starting on the right and alternating to the left
D. GK receives 6 reps with one leg elevated starting on the right and alternating to the left
E. GK receives 4 easy reps as collapse dive starting on the right and alternating to the left and then two longer dives right and then left
Key Coaching Points:
Drive head and hands to the ball
Positive angle
Shoot hands to the ball
Shoot low

GK opens hips and quickly finds ball angle
Volley to the hands
Catch and distribute to central server who will play the ball back for two touches
distribute to first server on the left
take a one touch right foot pass from server two on left
open up hips for a low dive on the left
5X reps each then rotate
Switch to ball off the ground from central server, one touch pass from first server on left, one touch pass from second server on the left to first server on the left. Open hips and receive a medium height ball.
