  • 4-4-2 vs. 4-3-3 single pivot

Objective:

Improve defensive shape and counterattacking for the 6 blue defenders while enhancing build-up play and final-third penetration for the 11 red attackers. 

Setup:

  • Mark a playing area with three zone
  • Build-Up Zone(Defensive third/midfield for red and blue 
  • Receiving Zone (Where red forwards receive passes to attack)
  • 6 Blue Defenders aim to win the ball and counterattack toward a full-size goal. 11 Red Attackers attempt to progress the ball on the ground into the receiving zone and score.
  • Rules:

  • Red attackers must keep the ball on the ground when passing.
  • The three red forwards must remain in the receiving zone until the ball enters.
  • Only one forward can check into the middle zone at a time to receive.
  • The blue defenders counterattack to a full-size goal when they win possession.

Rules & Progressions:

  • Red attackers work on quick ball circulation  to break down the defensive block.
  • Blue defenders focus on compactness and intercepting passes.
  • If blue wins possession, they counter quickly to goal.
  • Red must find the right moment to play a pass into the receiving zone.
  • Forwards must stay disciplined in positioning, checking in strategically.
  • Defenders:Stay compact, press intelligently, and communicate.
  • Attackers: Use quick, short passing and off-the-ball movement.
  • Forwards: Time runs to create space and receive effectively.
  • Transitions: Encourage quick counterattacks when winning possession.
