Player 1 Always serves the ball, and can either play short to
where there are no players, so the Goalkeeper must come and
play the ball into the goal. The Server could also shoot for
Goal, or even play to players 2 or 3. With these options it is
possible to firstly affect the goalkeepers starting position and
then how they react to the ball being moved.
The Goalkeeper needs to be close enough to support or
intercept play, but also not expose the goal.
Once the ball is played to either Player 2 or 3, these players
have 2 choices in possession. They either control the ball with
1 touch and then shoot, or if they take a second touch, they
must now score by dribbling the ball around the goalkeeper
and into the goal.
- To make this practice simpler you can give the players
targets eg. player 2 can only dribble straight at 1 post and
player 3 at the other post so the Goalkeeper firstly experiences
diving at the feet.
The Goalkeepers First thought must be can they win the ball
as early as possible, so looking for a heavy/bad touch, if the
player looks to shoot the Goalkeeper must be set
