5 v 3 in one half, leaving 4 v 2 in the other.
The Red team of 5 try to keep possession. If the Blues win the ball, they switch it to the other half and 1 player from each team goes across to make a 5 v 3 in that half.

Start with a 5 v 5 in one half, leaving a 2 v 2 in the opposite.
Play as before, if the Blues can shift the ball to the opposite half, 3 players from each team must transition.

Set Up
Teams set up as shown. Reds are attacking from top to bottom.
Players are restricted to the areas as shown except -
when the midfield play into the striker, 2 midfield players must join in to make a 3 v 2.
The ball MUST be played through the thirds.
How To Play
Normal rules but no offsides.
The team that scores restarts play from their keeper.
Possible Coaching Points
Attacking - patience in possession if there is no forward pass. (Particularly in defending third).
Midfield rotation to get on the ball.
Good passing & support.
Fast passes into the striker when it is "on".
Fast transition to attacking third to support the attack.
Defending - Forward player try to make play predictable.
Press hard in midfield to try to win the ball back.
Defensive third try to hold up the striker, watch where the runners are coming from.
Be brave - block shots.
Progressions
Allow defenders to pass from back to front.
Go into free play but coach the principles of the previous practices.

Warm-Up
Players work in pairs, 1 serving & 1 working on the following;
Left foot, right foot ground pass.
Left foot, right foot inside foot volley.
Left foot, right foot outside foot volley (across from the wrong side of the body).
Thigh pass(side volley action).
Chest control to a volley.
2 headers (1 standing, 1 jumping).
In between each set, the players working perform different actions on the way to the next server.
