Pass to Pivot

(10 min)

Set up

- 2 Lines with pivot at middle cones

- All Balls start with players at corners

Instructions

- Send pass to Pivot

- Pivot receives the ball with sole and turns inside, completes skill and complete pass to player on the opposite side

- Pivot Receives the ball with sole and turns outside to play a pass

Progression

- Once pass is made to pivot, the pivot lays it off to the passer with sole and ball is played across to opposite side

- One touch pass with a wall pass at the end

Coaching Points

- Solid pass to pivots strong foot

- Pivot must make sure to protect ball and turn inside

- Focus on weight of pass and find your teammates correct foot

Possession to find Pivot

(15 min)

Set up

- 2 teams (3v3) or (4v4) depending on numbers

- 1 player in each end zone which represents the Pivot

Instructions

- Possession game trying to find the Pivot for a point or goal

- Every time you find your Pivot Successfully... it counts for a point

- Each team must complete 3 passes before they find the Pivot

Progression

- Once you find your Pivot, you must turn and go the opposite direction and find the opposite pivot for a point

- Next Progression is, every time you find your pivot, you must change positions with the pivot

Coaching Points

- Solid pass to pivots strong foot

- Focus on weight of pass and find your teammates correct foot

- Pass and move to create space to find the pivot

- Pivot must move and create angles so create passing lanes to find him or her
