Description

Set Up: 

- 4 cones marking starting points for players as shown (2 on baseline injection marks, and 2 in line on the dashes outside the circle

- Lots of balls on each of the cones at top of the circle

- Spread players out evenly between cones and rotate after each shot

Challenge:

- Task the players to score 'X' amount of goals in 5 minutes (puts pressure on the delivery and deflection)

Technical points for deflector:

- Run towards the ball

- Get ball delivery to be aiming for far post / side board of far post

- Angle stick towards goal (doesn't have to be flat on ground, but helps for beginners)

- When on left post deflection, try and go reverse stick deflection

Key Points:

- Ball delivery aiming for far post

- Ball delivery has to be hard and fast - ideally using a hit, slap or reverse/tomahawk

- Player doing the deflection aims to get towards Penalty Spot and towards the player delivering the ball

- Use pace of ball to deflect, and not stop the ball
