Football/Soccer Session (Academy Sessions): Using the scissor to create give and go's (Start Time: 2017-09-16 13:30:00)

1v1s to Gates (40 mins)

Organization:

Two grids (or more) as above 20x15. Four players per grid. Two foot gates at each end of the grid. Players in line behind one player at a gate, and two players at places above. Rotation of players is defender, nuetral, attacking.

Instructions:

A) Player plays pass to nuetral player (1A) who then plays a pass to attacker (2A). Attacker then tries to dribble through the gate at the other end (3A). Defender tries to win the ball back and score in gate opposite him. Defender can go once pass leaves the nuetral player. Rotate defender to nuetral player to attacker.

B) Player plays pass to nuetral player (1B) who then plays a pass to attacker (2B). Attacker then tries to dribble through the gate at the other end (3B). Defender tries to win the ball back and score in gate opposite him. The nuetral player can join and play a give and go with attacker (4B) or the attacker can choose to dribble to gate. Nuetral players can not score. Defender can go once pass leaves the nuetral player. Rotate defender to nuetral player to attacker.

Coaching Points:

* Coach the 3 E's of the scissor (A)

* Talk about using a scissor to deguise a give and go (B)

* Commit defender to you in order to preform give and go

* If defender hangs back, drive at defender for give and go or using scissor move

1) From fig A to fig B

2) Tourny between grids, Divisions style (winners from bottom groups advance, loser at top bracket back to lowest division)
