General Overview
Circuits are warm ups designed to get all players moving with the ball and experiencing a variety of fundamental skills/techniques before going into the main sections of the training session.
- Allocate players evenly to stations (2 players per station for exampled, keeping players with similar abilities on the same station so that they are moving through the exercises at a similar proficiency.
- 2.5 minutes on each station.
- If there are 4 or more players on 1 station (more than 12 players total) add a 5th station
- Regress or Progress the stations depending on the age and ability
- If possible add a finish to all stations to increase engagement and enjoyment (can use a mini goal, a big goal or a ball on a cone for this)
Circuit 2
Station 1 - loose dribble on a diagonal and finish into goal with instep
Station 2 - figure 8 dribble with weight of pass (pass the ball to stop it dead inside the square area
Station 3 - Around the clock (inside taps), enter through red gates, inside taps while moving around the circle, exist through gates again and shoot. Clockwise and anticlockwise.
Station 4 - Pass the ball down the side of the cones then fast feet (1 foot in each) between each cone, with a finish after
Station 5 - Juggling (add this station if numbers need it and also for older groups (9 years old +) even if numbers don't need it but just so they get exposure to juggling as well). Reduce time limit to 2 minutes on each station if 5th station is added

Circuit 3
Station 1 - free and creative dribble and finish into goal with instep (encourage them to work on a skill they’ve seen in tv that they like)
Station 2 - partner volleying (base level would be to kick the ball like a footy kick to your partner, middle level would be to keep it up juggling together with a bounce in between the pass, top level would be to keep it up juggling together with no bounce one touch - with many varying levels between all of these - choose the right level for the players that are being coached)
Station 3 - Around the clock (sole drags), enter through red gates, sole drag while moving around the circle backwards, exist through gates again and shoot. Clockwise and anticlockwise. This can be done as both feet or single feet at a time.
Station 4 - Pass the ball in front of the cones then laterally bound while balancing on one leg then finish into the goal (focus is on knee stability and coordination). Can regress this to two feet hopping.
Station 5 - Juggling (add this station if numbers need it and also for older groups (9 years old +) even if numbers don't need it but just so they get exposure to juggling as well). Reduce time limit to 2 minutes on each station if 5th station is added
