Movement
Players are asked to make space from thier defender . As shown above the movement is only a few yards and they are moving to recieve the ball.
Rules
Wide players can move up and down the shaded area creating angles for an easier pass.
Coaching Points
Players moevment. speed of movement, direction. Body position.
Which foot to receive the ball?
Awareness of next pass.
Weight of pass/ safe side.
Duration
4 minutes work/ 2 mins rest

Progression
3 defenders are now involved but can only intercept pass not tackle.
Objective.
Now looking for rotation and imagination to create space .
As shown in diagram.
The session will continue with the wide player then playing back into the middle area.

Rules
Similar to Previous but reds are attacking goal.
Where possible they will look to switch play with the deepest midfielder supporting.
If blues win ball they have 15 seconds to score in small goals.
Balls will also start from the goalkeeper who will deliver long to deepest red player.
Coaching Points:
Strikers will look to stretch play and create more space for midfielders.
Both attacking full backs have licence to continue runs and deliver crosses.
Duration:
6 minutes work/2 minutes rest x3 sets
Total 22 minutes

Reflection.
Players used:Llangynwydd 1st team
DESCRIPTION.. What happend.....
Using 15 players and 1 goalkeeper
Session worked well, the players involved picked up the principles very quickly. Advanced Full backs and strikers also understood their roles and responsibilities.
After showing demonstrations and using a question and answer approach the team did take the attacking principles on board and the objectives were achieved very quickly.
Feelings....
Before.. I knew I had to rely on the other coach for a little while to keep other players involved unitl they were needed
During... Session was good . Movement was game realistic. Inculding the strikers movements to make space for the midfielders .
During the 20 minute phase it was clear that they had took everything on board that I had asked of them.
After..Players realised that if they switched play quickly there was more space to expose.
EVALUATION.
Good. Players understanding and their movment to effect the pass. Full backs decisions when to advance even further to deliver cross.
Bad. Strikers didnt realise that they effected the space that the midfielders had, so they had to be shown several times how to achieve this.
Analysis... How I influenced session....
Observing palyers and thier movement. Diagonsing problems as they arose in the function and reinforcing them in the phase.
Vocally giving instruction and just the odd reminders.
Conclusion...
Session worked well, switching play was achieved on many occassions
Action Plan..
Next time we conduct this session I will get players to come up with other movements . Using thier creativity and awareness.
Limitations..
Not all players were incorporated until 15 minutes into the session. Relied on the other coach to keep players active and interested
