  • Skill focus - slap hit.
  • Start in pairs, static slap hits.
  • COACHING POINTS
  • Hands together, right meets left at the top of the stick.
  • Stick starts on the ground and finishes on the ground.
  • Stand side on to your partner.
  • Ball is a 'stick and a step' away from your right foot.
  • Bend your knees and get low.

Left Hand Side Circle Entry

  • Left hand circle entry to look at how a good slap pass can be used across goal to score.
  • Player on the left carries to the baseline in a banana shape to slap the ball across the D for the player on the right to run onto.
  • The player on the right needs to time their run so that they're meeting the ball and not standing waiting for it.
  • The player scoring needs their stick on the ground to shoot with one touch and use the power of the slap pass to score.

Attacking Overload on Goal

SET UP

  • 5 v 2 / 4 v 2 / 7 v 3, etc - any combination works, just don't crowd the playing space you have. If necessary, have teams of attackers and defenders that rotate into play after each round.
  • Attackers - score in goal.
  • Defenders - score in either side goal.
  • Swap attack / defence so players have a turn in all positions.
