How:
Split the pitch in half with one team working in each.
Player will move off the cone (defender) and recieve the ball from the reciever, they will then pass the ball back into the reciever and make a run though the cones (as if they were breaking the oppositions line) and receive a through ball back from the receiver.
Once they've recieved the ball the 2nd time they will play it to the team opposite who will then repeat the drill.
Plenty of balls situated with the feeder/coach which play will start and restart with.
Progression can be a defender is used to put slight pressure on the runner to make it more realistic.
Due to number of players working with, this drill will be replicated with the use of an assistant coach, to ensure more ball rolling time for those involved. EG Working with 20 players team will be split into two group of 10, with a player acting as a feeder.
Feeder player is replaced ever 2 mintues to ensure all participate in the drill and work on the aims of the session, also ensure maximum ball rolling time for all players involved.
Objectives
To move away from a defender (cone) receive the ball in space and play a 1 2 to make a quick run to break the opposition defensive line and recieve the ball in an attacking position.
How quick can the player move beyond the line?
What type of ball is being played? through, around or over?
Quick transitions, so no one is standing around.
Coaching Process:
Observe the play
Diagnos the problem
Recreate the Situation
Provice Feed back
Rehearsal of Performance
Play Live
Is it realistic?
Key points:
Rember body shape and how to receive the ball, recieve on the weaker foot and in the direction you want to make your next pass.
Once you've made a pass, can you move into space/break the line quickly.
Communication talk about where you want to recieve the pass and where you're going to make a run.
Decision making type of pass to be made.

How:
Make the pitch smaller 10 yards from the 18 yard line either side of both boxes and about 10 yards from either touchline.
Plenty of balls situated with the feeder/coach which play will start and restart with.
The aim is for the reds to pass and move the ball from one box to the other (breaking the opposition lines), by playing the ball through, around and over.
The blues have the job to stop this by working as a defensive/midfeild unit to shut down the pass and closing the space down together.
If Blues wins the ball they play it to the opposite red team and switch with the red team they just won possesion from.(the red team who lost possession now becomes the defensive/midfeild unit)
Objectives
To create space to break the opposition line by passing and moving the ball around in space.
Can the play be switched to the free player to allow a quick pass to be played through to the other team?
Can blues hold their line tightly and quickly shuffle to shut down the pass, giving the passing team no options.
Key Factors
Knowing when and how to make the pass, is there enough space? Is there going to be enough power on the pass to break the oppositon line? Can you confuse the defensive unit?
Can the team out of possesion (reds) move around and communicate with the team in possession to give them an option to recieve the ball?
Should a blue team member break their own line and come and press the ball? Can the remaining two hold the line efficently?
Can the blue team work well as a team to stop the breaking of the line?
Scoring:
Can the red team play a ball to the other red team to get a point?
Can the read team get 5 passes together before breaking the line?
Can each red team get 5 passes between them?
Can the blue team stop a pass being played?
Can they win the ball and then in turn become the team in possession?
Can the striker reset the play by using his defenders/feeders.
Coaching Process:
Observe the play
Diagnos the problem
Recreate the Situation
Provice Feed back
Rehearsal of Performance
Play Live
Is it realistic?
Key points:
Rember body shape and how to receive the ball, recieve on the weaker foot and in the direction you want to make your next pass.
Once you've made a pass, can you now move into space? To help your team mates break the line?
Defend side on and make yourself big, close down any angles and show the passing/attacking team exactly where you want them to go eg weaker foot/ out wide.
Communication
Decision making (when and where to make a pass and when/where to press the ball)

How:
Goals brought up to the edge of the 18 yard box with the "D" being used as the goal keepers box.
The pitch is made/marked out in line with the corners of the 18 yard box.
Players are split into 3 teams, with two teams playing and the third team acting as common players on the outside of the pitch.
The players in play are split evenly with two from each team being allowed in each section.
The Spare team can be used to recieve and play passes to the team in possession.
What:
Play starts with either keeper, when it goes out it resets with the outside play on the zone stating the play in that section.
The team that is in possession can either pass or dribble the ball into the next section, if they do so correctly they can cause an overload for their team in that section.
The goal is to get the ball from one end to the other and try to score, the outside/common players can be used to help relief pressure and to help play between zones.
If a common player is used to play between zones no overload can be created in the next zone.
Play lasts for 5 minutes before teams are swapped around eg common players come in so a team playing can "rest" act as the new common players.
Key Points:
How and when to break the lines to get the ball into the next zone.
Is it smart to relief the pressure by using a common player or should you try and create an overload.
Can the opposition win the ball quickly and do the same? If opposition wins it in the first zone can they score in 10 seconds?
Have an awareness on what players are on the pitch/in your section and what postion you and they should be in.
Block Two:
For the final 10 minutes flat markers and cones are taken up and full width of the pitch is used to make the game more realistic, players are encouraged to attempt line breaking passes and will receive extra points when scoring after their team have made one.
Outside players now join both teams evening to ensure all players are involved and that players are placed in a more realistic game scenario.
