Progression 1 (10 mins)

Everyone dribbles from the start of the channel to the other end. Whilst in the channel, introduce variations on the types of dribbles/touches. Once reaching the end, return to the start of the channel by going back around outside.

Variations

- Normal dribble

- Dribble at speed

- Maximum touches

- Go from side-to-side/diagonals

- Minimum touches (how can you get to the end with the least touches, but still have the ball under control)

- Freestyle (be creative!)

Progression 2 (20 mins)

Have two pairs setup on the outside of the channel. Split the channel into two halves where these two pairs will work.

In their pairs, they must play the ball across the box to their teammate. Meanwhile, everyone else is dribbling through the channel.

The pairs must count the number of completed passes. If the ball is stopped by a player running through the channel, then the pass does not count. They must reset and play across the whole channel again.

You can allow long passes, aerial passes, etc. based on the ability level of the group.

Variations

- The pairs can dribble into the channel before passing

- Channel players may actively block the passes instead of just running passively

- The pairs both enter the channel, find a pass, and then switch positions on either side of the channel.

- Channel players become active defenders, focusing on their ball and what the pairs are doing.

Make the game competitive - which pair can complete the highest number of passes?
