Warm up: Touches
Set Up (10 mins)
Partners with 1 ball
Cone set up about 10 yards away
Organization
-1 partner works while the other delivers the pass
-Working partner jogs out to cone, touches cone and turns to show for the ball
-As soon as working partner turns, partner on the line delivers the pass
-Work for 1 minute and then switch roles
-work through a series of different touches controlling the ball and passing it back to the server
-two touch pass, one touch pass, trap with thigh, trap with chest, and head
Progression
-trap ball and turn, then dribble around the cone and pass back to partner
Coaching Points
-Server must deliver a good ball for each specific skill being worked on
- focus on a gentle touch, bringing the ball under control quickly
-crisp and accurate pass back
-check away from the cone with speed to lose "defender"
-high intensity when working

Midfield Work - touch and turn(10 minutes)
Set Up
-Groups of 3
-10 by 20 yards
-ball
Organization
-Players rotate through positions. Each do the drill for 1 minute
-Player in middle of the grid is working and the other two are receiving and serving the ball
- Player on outside plays ball into middle player (on ground but can progress to serving the ball in the air)
- player turns and plays a pass to the player waiting on the other line
-continue working in this way for 1 minute.
-Players rotate through positions so that everyone has a chance in the middle

-Players on the outside give the player on the inside information (back to me, turn, time etc.)

Organization
-Players rotate through positions. Each do the drill for 1 minute
-Players in middle of the grid are working and the other two are receiving and serving the ball
- Player on the outside plays ball into the middle player
-Player on outside gives the player receiving the ball information: either to turn or play the ball back depending on where the defender is.
-Work through the same two previous drills but can choose to turn and play the pass or play back for the long ball
-continue working in this way for 1 minute

-Players on the outside give the player on the inside information (back to me, turn, time etc.)
-Players on the outside also move to give an good passing angle
