Technical - Quick Passing to exploit space - Change of angles to recieve the ball on the back foot (ensuring the body is open) - Creative (think of creative way to unlock the defence, flicks, disguised passes) |
|
Tactical - Interchange with team mates making it harder for defenders mark and pick up |
|
Physical - Quick feet to shuffle body one way & another to make space to receive to feet or inbehind - Strength to hold up the ball and set a team mate for a penetrative pass |
|
Psychological - Patience (wait for the right moment to exploit the gaps created) - Positive Mindset (keep looking to play those risky passes) - Reaction to move into a different area of the pitch to support |
|
Social - Trust team mates that they will get the ball to you and make that risky pass - Communication both verbal (asking for the ball, 2-1 pass, man on or time to turn) and non-verbal |

Reds look to combine play in the middle 3rd to create gaps in the blue's shape to expliot with penetrating pass into the attacking 3rd leading to a goal scoring chance.
Blues look to stay in shape & win possession and get the ball into a target player.
If the ball goes out of play from the sides restart as a throw in.
If the ball goes out at the byeline play will restart from the Red's CB.
Progression:
- Blues defensive line can drop back.
- Whichever blue player makes the pass into target player swaps roles. (Reds can restart straight away to look to exploit the overload that is created by this)

- Switching Play? (if you can't go forward, can you switch play to someone who can play forward)
