1) Show players how they can position themselves when the goalkeeper has the ball in order to play forward and look to play early.
2) Introduce the backpass option to players even if it is not used right away it will be in the future

Instructions:
Player 1 plays a ball in the air to the goalkeeper
The two outside players check back to receive the ball, from the goalkeeper, in a wide area.
GK disrtibutes and shows as an option.The player receiving plays back to the GK with their front foot.
The player on the other side that does not get the ball has to touch the cone next to them (covering position) and moves back out wide as the ball does
Gk plays to the player on the other side, who plays to player 1 through the gate.
*Coach blocks the gate as the gk distributes the first pass
Coaching Points:
Head up field before receiving, see if the gate is open
Play pass with front foot to the GK
Pass back to the gk outside the goal
Body position
Player 1 movement based on where the GK plays
GK serve infront of the wide player.
Progressions:
Coach now moves where they want and the players have to see where they can play and how. Do they have to pass back to the GK? or can they play forward?

Defender now playes the ball to the GK and tries to win the ball back and score.
The attackign team has to play player 1 through the yellow gate how ever they can.
Coaching Points:

GK good service to wide player
If Defender is close to gk can they play throught the gate themselves?

Coaching Points:
IF the gate is closed can you play back to find an open one?
Gk can you make it 4v3 by helping with you feet?
