Activity Name: Increasing Numbers Attack
Activity Description: First player team A comes in with a ball and goes 1v1 against the first player in team B. When the ball goes out team B sends in an additional player with a ball it now becomes a 2v1 with the incoming player joining their team mate and going against the one player from team A. When the ball goes out next a player from team A comes in with a ball to make the game a 2v2, next time the ball goes out a player from B comes in with a ball to make it a 3v2. This continues until both teams have a 5v5 (including keepers). If you have a large group then once you have got to 5v5 the next time the ball goes out all players (except keepers) leave the court and we start again with a 1v1.
PROGRESSION - Add a Pivot who stays on. Initially the pivot must stay in the attacking half and the players on their team must combine and try to link up with the pivot. Focus on the movement of the pivot in the attacking half.
Coaching Points:
- In 1v1 focus on player with the ball attacking at pace and being creative. Defender focuses on correct 1v1 defending.
- In the bigger numbers attacking focus should be on combination play - diagonal runs, blocking, give and go's. Trying to find the pivot. playing the 3-1 formation when numbers allow. Switching formation to 2-2 and 4-0 for more advanced players.
- Defensive focus should be on individual defending technique, group shape, 'pointing to mark'.

Rondo Switch (15 mins)
Activity Name: Rondo Switch
Activity Description: Setup two rondo's which run side by side. After each pass the player who passed the ball must run from the rondo they are involved in, into the opposite rondo. This repeats, after every pass the player who passed the ball runs into the other rondo. Players will end up switching back and forth between to two rondos. IMPORTANT - Stress the importance of keeping possession of the ball and keeping the ball moving. If one rondo breaks down, then the other one will become lobsided.
Coaching Points:
- Quality of technique - passes and first touch.
- Futsal techniques - sole of the foot, scooping, toe pokes.
- Disguising passes - shape to play one way and then play the other way.
- Communication - visual and verbal.
- Speed of play - keep ball moving quickly.
- Spacing and shape within rondo.
- Movement - as entering the opposite rondo look for spaces.
