WARM UP 1(FOLLOW THE LEADER) (15 mins)

Organization (6min -12min) 

Circle time : S3a Stretching & review the training (objective) of day.

Set up a 15x35yd grid each player with a ball, cones, etc ... players perform the following exercises at the direction of the coaches command and lead:

Part 1: without the ball, players start on a cone and ball should be top of cone, do sets of 4, and players move to another cone. players must listen to coaches whistle / commands

  • step over the ball/cone
  • S3A - "Smart Jumping Jacks"
  • rotate around the ball (player goes around a ball or round cone ALWAYS facing in the same direction.
  • cross over the ball/cone
  • scissors 

With the ball now 

  •  Inside Taps
  •  Jog with the ball "dribbling"
  •  Roll ball across body and tap with inside of other foot
  •  Push ball forward with laces and roll back with sole

Dribble using inside/outside right foot x Dribble using inside/outside left foot x Dribble using insides of both feet

Dribble using outside of both feet

Dribble using sole of both feet

Free to use all parts of both feet

Coaching Focus:  Make sure players can do exercises correctly and working on proper technique. Start slow and then provide more energy and intensity.

Drill 1- in-N-out attack your opponents goal (15 mins)

Organization (8min -10min) 

Set up a 15x35yd grid each player with a ball, cones, etc ... players perform the following drill at the direction of the coaches command and lead:

Part 1: make 2 teams and teams set up on the opposite corners of field.  Each team is divided into 2 again (A & B) 

Give each team a color cone (i.e. Red or blue) as well as pennie or cone to hold in their hand and be able to hand off to their teammate. 

  • players A -On coaches whistle/command will go in and out the cones and fun to get a ball from their assigned color cone. 
  • remove the ball with their foot from cone, and dribble to opponent goal, however before they can shoot & score ( "pass the ball" into the opponents goal they must dribble around [full circle] around any of their assign color cone) 
  • onces they shoot, they must fun to the other side and hand off cone/pennie to their teammate Player B and go to the end of the line.
  • Player  B will repeat and do the same thing player A did.
  • Team with most goals wins.
Team gets 2 points for each goal scored, and 1 point for finishing first.  The objective is for teams to do task correctly, and try to score as many goals as a possible.  Game finishes once a team has no more balls on their cone.

Part 2.  If you have time... repeat same drill, however players can steal balls from opponents remaining cones, if they have finished with their own.  Players can battle for last ball.start with 1v1, and add players,,,, 2v2, 3v3, 4v4... etc.

Futsal game (30 mins)

Organization

Set up a Futsal court using cones and goals. Split group into 2 teams and play a Futsal Match. 3v3, 4v4 or 5v5. Try to limit the number of players on the field to a small group, so that all players are more challenge, spacing out, and not everyone is running and chasing the  ball

Game Focus

- Encourage players to dribble and take on defenders in 1v1 situations

COOL DOWN: Line up and shake hands, quick recap, and chant our slogan 

"WHO ARE WE?  S3a!! WHAT ARE WE? GAME CHANGERS 4 LIFE!"

WARM UP 2 (15 mins)

FUTSAL WARM UP 2

HAVE PLAYERS ON COACHES COMMAND PERFORM THE FOLLOWING EXERCISES AND BALL MASTERY SKILLS.

  • Players move around the grid throwing ball above head height and catching the ball

  • As above players clap before catching ball x Players bounce ball and catch while moving around grid.

  •  As above player clap when ball hits ground x Players throw ball from hand to hand while moving around the grid (again introduce clap) x Players throw ball in the air and as the ball bounces they quickly step over the ball
  • As above players now try to catch ball after stepping over the ball
  • Throw ball in the air allow the ball to bounce and quickly run under the ball
  •  As above players now turn and catch ball after running under the ball
COACHING FOCUS:  LOOK AT PLAYERS AND SEE THAT THEY FEEL COMFORTABLE WITH DOING TASK, WORKING ON PROPER TECHNIQUE AND NOT RUSHING.

Organization

Set up a 20x20yd grid with 12 rings placed inside the grid some with a regular size 3-4 soccer ball in the middle of 8 or 12 of the rings and others without (See Diagram). Divid Players into 2 teams, have 1 team move inside the grid dribbling their ball, and placing them into empty rings on coaches command. The other team should be following and shadowing player with ball, when coaches says "ring" player with ball should look for empty ring and try to get there before defender can stop them and cover up the ring with their foot. Vary exercise by adding different movements and types of dribbles

COACHING FOCUS:  LOOK AT PLAYERS AND SEE THAT THEY FEEL COMFORTABLE WITH DOING TASK, WORKING ON PROPER TECHNIQUE AND NOT OVER RUSHING.
