Set Up - 2 lines of dribbling cones and one space to run with the ball
Players get into two teams and continually dribble round course 3 or 4 times. They then race against each other for points - Make sure teams are even.
Coaching points
Take care to go round every cone
Let them go at their own pace
Let them make their own mistakes - only correct if same mistake over & over
Potential Problems
Kids dont dribble round all the cones
Kis in the line lose interest and kick eachothers balls away
Kids miss out parts of the course

Set Up - 5 by 7 yards coned areas. Players pair up and stand on opposite end of areas.
Player A (red) tries to beat player B and dribble the ball over the line. If unsuccessful the player gets two more attempts then switches with player B. If player A if successful to start with then switches over.
1 point is made for a successful dribble and an additonal point is given for a good piece of skill or tackle. Count the number of points at end of game.
Coaching points -
keep control of the ball,
dont 'hoof' the ball too far,
dont kick the ball out of play - results in losing 1 point
Potential outcomes -
players boot the ball out,
players dont control ball within the lines
Kick players in frustration

Set Up - 10 by 5 yards. 3 players
A (Red) plays against B (Blue) and tries to beat him and score a point by walking the ball through the goal. If he scores of is unsuccessful C (green) then attacks Red and so on.
Coaching points - be patient - hard set up to understand. Walk it through slowly with one group.
No long shots
Keep ball under control, dont kick the ball out of play
Be aware of your turn to attack/defend
Potential Problems
Kids dont understand the game
Kids kick the ball out
Kids take long shots
Kids dont keep the ball under control in the area
Award points for successful dribbles, tricks and tackles

Set Up - 12 by 6 yards, goals 2yards. 2v2 NO GOALKEEPERS
Teams play against each other - to score a player must dribble through the goal.
No long shots. 1 point awarded per succesful dribble across the line. extra points awarded for a good pass, good trick, good tackle *Lose a point if the ball gets kick out*
If two games going on - rotate the teams into a mini tournament. Make sure teams are fair
Coaching points - try to beat oppoenent, hog the ball, try a new trick, Keep the ball undr control (ask if the players understand control?
Potential Problems -
players retreat to act as goalkeepers,
players kick the ball out,
players complain that they are not receiving the ball

Set Up 10 by 20 yards 4 goals and either 3 or 2 teams
Players try to score in any goal. They get 1 point for every goal scored. 2 points if they score in two different goals, then 3 & then 4 etc. Once each goal is scored then a new round of scoring takes place.
Coaching points - try score in all 4 goals.
Score when you get a chance keep tallying up the score
Team loses 1 point if they ball goes out of play
Potential Problems
Players 'hog' the ball'
Players kick the ball out
All players will follow the ball
Because it is congested players kick each other

Set Up - 20 by 20 yard area. Players pair up evenly and get different bibs on. 4 goals (cones) placed in different parts of the area
Players play 1v1 or 2v2 and try to score a point by either dribbling through any of the goal or 2 points for passing it to a team mate through the cone. Players lose a point if they dont have it under control or hoof the ball through the coned area.
Coaching - keep an eye on the teams and make sure they are even. After 5minutes mix up the groups,

Set Up -10 by 10 yards with two safety zones
3 or 4 players act as catchers (red) who try and tag all other players, who once tagged leave the area and cheer on the remaining players. Players can use the safety zones for breaks but for a maximum of 5 seconds
1 point goes to the player who doesnt get tagged
