Managing the Blues - Server CB, LM, CM,CM, RM, Flat 4 Midfield Target to play into CF (9)
Function
Blue (4) server starts play into his chosse Blue midfilder then we go live.The blues work the ball through midfield 4 to reach the target Blue number (9) as soon as possible .The Reds work as a midfield diamond unit looking to defender the counter attack and play the ball back into the Blue (4) server. As soon as the ball recieves the target blue number (9) play starts again with the Blue server. Balls will be recycled from the Blue (9) into the players on the outside observing the function to ensure elements of the Midfield play is followed into the SSG.
Forcing the Blues to play inside the diamond - (Coaching the Reds)
- Once the server plays the ball into the Blue Midfield (6 ) or (8) this will trigger the Red (8) to open his body shape to put the pressure on the blue recieving midfielder ideally centrally between both the Blue (6 ) & (8) .
- The Red (11) & (7) will come in line with the Blue (6) & (8) so they can be in position to narrow the diamod to encourage the opposition to oplay through the diamond.
- The Red (6) role will be to be screen the passess played into the Blue (9). It's important that the Red (6) move as a unit with the diamond to ensure the distance between himself and the Red (11) & (7) is narrow to cut the passes out.

Defending Counter Attacks With MF Diamond
Coaching the Reds in a 1-2- (4)Diamond-2 Formation (9) Vs Managing the Blues in a 1-3-4-1 Formation (9)
Working with the Reds focusing on the MF diamond defending counter attacks.Ensuring the Roles of the clear of 6,7,11 & 8 following the areas covered in the function.
At the start of the SSG looking to implement the key defensive points with the Reds. Looking for the Blue team to split to play out of the back to create an overlaod in midfield. Looking for the Blues Wide Midfielders to remain wide in possession.

SSG - Triggers when the opposition play out - preventing them from playing through the MF diamond
Defending Counter Attacks With MF Diamond
Coaching the Reds in a 1-2- daiamond4-2 Formation (9) Vs Managing the Blues in a 1-3-4-1 Formation (9)
- When the Blues play out of the back. Once the Blue CB (2 ) opens his body to recieve the ball . This will trigger the Red (10) to arc his run to cover the Blue(2) run
- Red (8) trigger will be as the ball travels from the goalkeeper he will step in line with the Blue (8) with the focus to be aware of Blue (8) of recieving the ball.
- Red (7) trigger will be as soon as Blue (2) rececieves the ball on his back foot he will come in line with the post closing to be minful of Blue (6) to maintain a comapct base for the diamond.
- Red (5) will move in line with Red (7) to prpvide cover if the ball is recycled and switched to Blue (3)
What If's
The ball is switched over to Blue (11) ?
The unit will shuffle over effectively. This will follow the same patten as detailed above.
The Red (11) will open his body and drop off in line with the post again with an open body to cut off the Blue (7)

Defending Counter Attacks With MF Diamond
SSG - Triggers when the opposition Blues play out to the Wide Midfieders
Coaching the Reds in a 1-2- diamond 4 - 2 Formation (9) Vs Managing the Blues in a 1-3-4-1 Formation (9)
- As the Blue Goalkeeper plays out to Blue LB (3). As the Blue LB (3) open's his body to recieve the ball on his back foot. This will trigger Red (9) to open his body to close down the pass into Blue (11).
- The Red (7) will close the angle to prevent the Blie (11) playing direct into the Blue (9)
- The Red (8) will open his body and put pressure on Blue (6) - closest man.
- The Red (6) will move to close the distance of Blue(8) again open body shape to encourage the Blues to play into the diamond.
- The Red (11) will track the run from Blue (7) to prevent him recieving the ball.
What if's the ball get's switch via the Blue FB (2)
The Red's will shuffle following the same pattenn as detailed above. It's key that the key defensive priniples are implemented to ensure this is implemented successfully.

Function working inside the coned area from 18 yard area to half way.
Function
Blue (4) server starts play into his chosse Blue midfilder then we go live.The blues work the ball through midfield 4 to reach the target Blue number (9) as soon as possible .The Reds work as a midfield diamond unit looking to defender the counter attack and play the ball back into the Blue (4) server. As soon as the ball recieves the target blue number (9) play starts again with the Blue server. Key Factors (Coaching the Reds)
- Red number (10) narrow's the space by forcing the blues to play inside the diamond by arcing his run to restict the blue (5) to switch the the ball to Blue (11)
- Red number ( 7 ) - to narrow the pitch to make it compact to play through. Red (7) trigger will be once the ball travels to Blue server (4) . He will look to move in line with Blue (6) to provide the opportunity to avoid the ball being tranferred into the Blue (6)
- Red number (11) to shuffle to the left side inside shouder of Blue (7) to prevent him playing diretly into blue (9).
- Red Number 6 - Will step slightly higher in line between the Blue ( 6) & (8) This will give 6 tyhe opportunity to screen and stop any passes into Blue (8). If the Blues attept to play into the blue (6). The Red (7) movement will to come insude in line with blue (6) to avoid the ball being transferred sucessfully.
Managing the blues
- Once the ball travel's from the server into the Blue (5) this will trigger the blue (7 ) & (11) to remain touchline wide (the cones as a point of reference for being touchline wide)
- Always looking for the blues to play high tempo forward into the number (9)
