Organization:
Small square = over mid circle
Big square = box to box 5-aside pitch
Piggy in the middle with a twist and high intensity game
Groups of 2 players as shown
Instructions:
Small Box
- Players play short-short combination play within the area (4v1 or 3v1)
- When defender gets the ball he passes out from small box to waiting team mates to keep possession
- Posession team is now the defenders
Big Box
-Players play short-long-short combination play within full area (7vs4)
- When defender gets the ball, drill resets and ball start off in small box again, time to get breath back
Coaching Points:
- Eye contact to begin passing sequence.
- Movement from other players to keep ball in play and to create angles
- Passer(s) play pass to correct (back) foot. Pass ahead, not behind player.
-Understanding when to pass short or long.
-Understanding movements needed to be in position to either receive the ball or pull defender with you.
- Taking first touch into space.
