4v3 to 4v3 +1 to 2 small goals:
Two 25x25 yd grids with an 8 yard neutral zone between the grids
Blue plays 4v3 in each grid plus a neutral player (in red). Blue and white players must stay in their grids, but neutral player can play in both grids and between grids creating 5v3 overloads.
Coaching Points:
Recognize opportunities to switch the point of attack into the other grid - through the neutral player coming into the neutral zone (no defenders in the neutral zone) to attack 5v3 to goal.
Because of the overload, encourage players off the ball to make penetrating runs, create 2v1 & 3v2 opportunities.
Rotate Blue, White and Neutral players accordingly
Progressions:
1)Allow 1 defender to enter the neutral zone to defend the neutral player
2)Remove neutral player and play the same game allowing any blue player to enter the neutral zone to receive and switch the ball to the other grid
