AO:ATTACKING ORGANIZATION PHASE 2: CREATION
SKILL SET Coaching Points: RECEIVING:
PitchParameters Zone 2/3 into 4
POSSESSION TO PROGRESS THROUGH ZONE 2 & ZONE 3 into Zone 4 to create Goal ScoringOpportunities: PLAYTHROUGH, AROUND OR OVER,
SWITCH THE POINT OF ATTACK TO CREATE OVERLOADS
ATTACKING PRINCIPLES:
Supports +1: createa numerical advantage when in possession to be able to play through, around orover the opponent
Width & Depth: The attacking team looks tostretch the opponent’s defensive shape. The attackers use the width pulldefenders out of their shape and create space. The attackers move the ball tochange the point of attack in an effort to find space between or behind thedefense.

Organization:
-10/12 Players
-see diagram for set-up and equipment
-area approx. 20M x15M yards (adapt for age/ability/numbers)
Progression: Create a 3 v 2
Challenge change the pitch parameters (make them smaller - less space)
Activity
-Play starts with Player/Team passing into the attackers (BLUE).
Two attackers create a triangle with the player playing in (Angle of support)
Attackers need to open up (Body POSITION) facing forward to receive with the correct foot
(Back Foot)
Ist Defender (RED) looks to close down the attacker and win the ball.
If they do win the ball, they can look to score in either pug net, and or gate.
The Attacker needs to decide whether to pass or to take on the defender. If the attacker (Support without the ball ) creates a good angle (opens up, facing forward ) this might be a better option The Attackers look to score (Big Goal)
If the defenders win the ball - defender can dibble/pass it into either mini net/cone.
Coaching Points:
-good decision-making -read the defenders movement and positioning - should I dribble into the space or pass to open team mate, "suck" defender in and "pass to pass" the defender, attack with good speed, finish with accuracy
-ask the players- where else could you have run?
-instead of passing what else could you have done.
Coaching points: Technical - Receiving
1. Eyes on the ball .
2. open up, (should in shoulder out).
3. Attack the ball.
4. receive with the back foot.
5.1st touch into space.

4 Goal Game SSG 15min
Split the players up in to 2 equal teams and have them play a game,
except there are 4 goals to score on instead of 2. Focus of the activity is to move
the ball from one side of the field to the other using proper passing and receiving
techniques to open up 1 of the 2 possible goals.
Coaching points : Technical - Receiving
1. Eyes on the ball 2.open up, (should in shoulder out,3. Attack the ball ,
4 .receive with the back foot, 5.1st touch into space
Coaching points : Tactical - Create good shape (Triangles & Diamonds) good Angles
Can the players create good angle of support with the player that has the ball.
Q: Move the ball from one side to the other side of the field until
they find a net that is open?
Q: If one net is blocked by players from the opposite team, can the player identify this, have their head up, scan the field, find a pass to the other side of the field?

Organization: 10/12 Players 4 v 4 or 5 v 5 + 2 Target players 15/20 min
Set up : cones, balls, grid size to match players abilities
Activity: Have two teams play possession game, with the teams looking to play into the Target player. to score a goal Every time a team plays into the target player they get a point. Only the target player can be in the end zone. One a goal is scored the target player plays out to that the team and they look to play into the opposite target player. Switch target players every 4 mins. Focus on receiving receiving - first touch into space can we create good supports(shape) and move the ball quickly
Let them be creative! Have them pick a team name (sports teams for example like Liverpool
Coaching points : Technical - Receiving : eyes on the ball, use the inside of the foot to receive attack the ball body behind the ball, first touch into space
See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
Final Game : 5 v 5 20 min with Goal keepers - Unconditional ,
Laws of the game Enforced ( corner kicks, goal kicks , Kick in Etc. offsides throw ins..)
Organization: Pitch Width: 25-30m Length: 30-36m
10 cones , 2 bow nets , 10balls, 5 bibs
Strategy:
Attract/fix the opponent to one side so we can play through them centrally or come around to get out and create numbers up in the opposite wide channel.
Tactics:
1) Set Quickly and stretch pitch to play Through/Around
2) Provoke Draw Opponents to the ball and eliminate lines: Combine through the middle using counter movements via the 6/8/10 to create space or come around to get out and look to unbalance the opposition in the opposite channel.
3)360 Supports+1
The Defending Team:
look to stay compact don't allow the attackers to play through and deny space force the attackers into making quick decisions.
Skill Set: Coaching points
- positioning on the field body shape open up to receive
and play forward. patience in possession/progress responsible risk taking
Passing: weight/timing/pace to feet v's space
Attacking Principles:
Dispersal (Width & Depth), Mobility,. Supports +1, Penetration and Creativity

Warm up Group passing/receiving (5 mins)
Organization: 10-15 min
Set up : pinnies, balls, grid size to match players abilities
Activity: Players pick a partner, and have each team see how many passes
they can make in one min. Players look to pick a gate and look to play through that gate to their partner. Chose one person on each team to count the
passes out loud. Must Play passed through the gate .
Passes only count if proper technique is used, the pass is accurate,
and firm. Players from the opposite team cannot intercept the ball.
Progression 1: Players now must play through as many gates as possible.
Cant be the same gate twice in a row.
Progression 2: The coach can look to block gates
Let them be creative! Have them pick a team name (sports teams for example like FC BAYERN MUNCHEN)
Coaching points : Technical - Passing:
See the player first (communicate, eye contact, vocal or using your body)
Body position (planting foot slightly ahead of the ball so your body is over the ball, eyes on the ball, lock your ankle, follow through, weight of the pass, part of the foot, and part of the ball)
