In this exercise, the players run with the ball pushing it quickly with the Outside and Inside of the both feet. The exercise helps act of dribbling and changes of direction. Emphasize the extension of the foot with the tip pointing down. When the coach says GO! the players dribble as fast as they can to stop the ball on any one of the edges of the grid.
Emphasis
Focus on using both the outside of both feet.
Players staying light on their feet and working to keep the ball no more than arms length away in ordered to be bale to stop it.
Being in control of the soccer balls and not having players chase the soccer ball
PROGRESSION
Show players the difference between a big touch for speed and a short touch for control. Transitioning from sprinting to tan edge to sprinting with the ball for 15 seconds then returning to slower smaller touches.
Allow players to bump another players ball with a pass - no knock outs, just get your ball and go again.

- When dribbling think about when you can have big touches and when you need smaller touches
- How do we work as a team to be effective at each end of the field
