Organisation:
- Team set up in our attacking shape of a 2-3-4-1. So we have 2 CB, 2 inverted FB, A holding midfielder, 2 CM, 2 wingers and a Centre Forward.
We will be working on a few different patterns before progressing the exercise to add in some pressure.
1st pattern as shown above.
When the ball is dead, we begin the phase from the other CB and go the other way, mirroring the pattern.
Coaching points:
- Our movement in relation to the ball is crucial for opening up space.
- Time and weight of passing
- Tempo
- Attack with purpose

- Full back now has the option to play the ball in front of the winger as opposed to playing through the CB & FB

Organisation:
- Now ask the 2 CM to go start a bit higher and go between opposition CB & FB.
- This should enable at least one of our wingers to be spare, can we play out ball side or look for big switch to other free winger

Organisation:
2 teams of 6.
- Defending team will consist of a GK, back 4 and a DM.
- Attacking team will consist of a CF, 2 wingers, 3 CM's.
I will be managing the defending team (reds) and Coaching the blue team to look for ways to combine to create goalscoring opportunities.
Conditions:
- Play will always start with the blue defensive midfielder everytime the ball goes dead.
Time:
4x8 min blocks
1st block:
Defending team will be asked to apply pressure in a mid block.
2nd block:
Defending team will now be asked to apply pressure in a low block.
3rd block:
Defending team will now be asked to apply pressure in a high block.
4th block:
Defending team now encouraged to coach themselves on how they are going to apply pressure on us to give us different problems to solve.
Coaching points:
Attacking team:
- Move the ball with purpose
- Quick combinations to disorganise the defence
- Look for space opening up
- If we can see a sight of goal - hit it
- If in a 1v1 situation with defender - be brave and back yourself
- Can we create 2v1 situations
Defending team:
- Triggers to press
- Counter press aggressive, then first pass forward (play the ball into one of the mini goals
- Stay compact and don't be played through
- COMMUNICATE

Organisation & set up:
5v5 with a floating player and the GK playing on both teams (when teams rotate at end of each block.)
Play starts with 2 blues + the grey attacking 2 red defenders and the GK. Attacking team trying to attack the big goal with the defending team counter attacking the mini goals should they regain possession.
Once ball is dead, players rotate out and continue playing from the attacking team.
Time:
- 4x3 min blocks, teams rotating at the end of each block

Organisation:
Group split off around 4 stations, marked A,B,C & D.
- Player A takes a touch out and gets a shot off and then stays around the edge of the box for the next phase.
- Player B then plays a wall pass with player A and then gets a shot off.
- Player C plays the ball out wide for the winger to attack the space and then deliver the ball in/around the box for players A,B & C to attack.
- Player D will make the run and put the cross in.
Players stay in the same station for the duration of the 3 minute block.
Time:
4x3 min blocks with players rotating stations at the end of each block.
