Session set up - Using all available space get players back into their pairs from the warm up & spread them evenly around the hall. Number 1's stand on the outside & numbers 2's stand facing partner inside the square around 5/6 yards away *Coach can tweak this depending on space/numbers. If numbers aren't even then make use of assistant to join in
Aim of the session is to recap passing technique & get as many passes in as possible
To start players have 3 touches & pass back and forth
Coaching points to be provided over numerous stoppages -
Inside of the foot due to the distance & because its the biggest surface area to help with accuracy
Standing foot planted next to the ball before passing
Toe's pointing in the direction you want to pass
Opposite arm out for balance e.g if passing with right foot, left arm out more for balance
Follow through the ball when connected
Make sure all players are on their toes throughout the session at all times
1st Progression
2 touch passes back & forth
1 touch *Coach to decide if group are capable - individual coaching opportunity as you can challenge certain pairs based on how well they are doing, also make it easier for struggling pairs if needed
2nd Progression - When the ball is passed into the middle player (Number 2's) they control the ball, perform a turn to go further into the middle by 2/3 yards, perform another turn then pass back out to outside player.
Rotate after 60 seconds
Challenge players to use all kinds of different turn already learnt in previous weeks.

Session set up - Use the same area as the drill before
Aim of the drill - Players now receive the ball, turn with the ball, dribble to find an open player & pass it into their feet & perform a 1-2 & repeat for 60 seconds.
All players will be going into the middle at the same time now so coaching points made in the session dribbling in traffic apply also.
On top of these extra coaching points to be provided over a couple of stoppages -
Which turn to perform
Head up to find open players
Communicating with all players
Patience - if you see an area crowded, change direction & move into open space
Get close to outside players before passing as there are too many bodies in the way for longer passes
Progressions
Can they use both feet to pass
Can they use 5 different turns within the 60 seconds
Can they use 10 different outside players in 60 seconds
Players will be ready for games. Encourage passing to open teammates in the games when the time is right, possibly add an extra score system in games as an incentive e.g 3 passes also equals a goal.
