Session objective is to encourage mobility in our attack; show players strategies for unbalancing the other team and feeling comfortable moving "out of position"

Half field set-up
-2 lines of defenders, 3 lines of attackers with 3rd attacker coming from the goal area
-play starts with ball being passed from the defenders
-3 attackers try to combine to create goal scoring opportunity
-offsides will be called so they must remain onside
-if defenders win ball they can try to score on 2 side goals
-GKs alternate every few chances
Keys: players should be looking to interchange positions and unbalance the defenders by overloading/interchanging; decision making whether to pass or dribble
Coaching points: If player passes for no reason without drawing defender in, stop and show them the benefits; if players get stagnant and do not interchange positions, show them how

Initial Game (20 mins)
3v3+2 or 4v4+1 (depending on #s)
~15x20 playing area
-If ball goes out, play kick-ins
-Attacking team has 3 nets to attack
-can score in any of them as long as it is below the knee
-extra balls around outside for if it goes out
Keys: with so many goal options, the offensive team should be changing directions, overlapping, and creating many goal scoring opportunities
Coaching points: If players get bogged down on one side trying to "force" it, stop them and show how to reset; if players are stagnant and remaining in "set" positions, encourage movement off the ball and interchange of positions
