WARN UP (30 mins)

Organization

Set up a field of 50x30 as shown. 3 teams of 5 , GK+5 vs 5 + 1 Neutral Yellow Player + 5 Red supports Whites vs Blues .Reds are supports to start.The teams can score only after they play with their supports into the end or side line.

Progression:

Teams can finish without playing to a support

Objectives

Switch Play to penetrate in the opponent's half to create chances to finish

Key words:

Supports - Opening space - Speed of play - Switch play - Finishing - Crossing.

1- How could we switch in speed of play to finish ?

2-Where should we find the best options to finish ?

3-Why it's important to play in 1-2 touches in the last final 3rd ?

4- Who are the players who must be in the box when we finish?

Possible Answers

1-Around or between the defending block should be a better option to combine with #7 or 11 or #9.

2-Into opening space with a player in movement off the ball ( #7-#11...).

3-As it's often compact, players should play faster in 1-2 touches or improvize (1v1/moves) to finish.

4- # 8- # 9- #10 - # 7 or 11.

Practice 1 (30 mins)

Organization: Set up a field of 80x85 as shown.

3 teams of 6 : Whites - Blues - Yellows. White team is defending 1st -Yellows are attacking. Blues are supports to start. When the white team wins the ball, they can attack also in passing combination to score. Team score in 2 big goals with a GK.

Progressions : Could be added (scoring without playing with supports = 1point and with the supports 2 points..). Rotate the supports every 5 minutes.

Objectives

Be able to recognize the best options in switching play in speed of play to finish.
