Counter attacking session
Last two games we havent been able to take adavantage of the overload when we have counter attacked the opposition teams. We hold the ball too long, and pick the wrong decisions due to poor movement of the attacking players.
Look to give the players some solutions to this problem with fast attacks and overloaded practices.

Fun warm up
4 small groups with a ball each, Must keep ball up and juggle to hoop before header into hoop for 1 point
First group to 5 points win
If ball hits ground they must go back to start
Can progress to headers

Passing Practice
Lots of touches on the ball
Follow Pass

Organisation:
2V1 Fast attacks
2 yellows attack one blue defender and attempt to score
Progress to 3v2
Coaching Points:
The ball-carrier should engage the defender at pace to
the point at which he fixes his feet; this indicates that
he is planted, anticipating the attacker trying to beat
him in a 1v1.
This is the cue for the ball-carrier to play a pass to the
second attacker, who should be an appropriate distance
away so as to eliminate the defender. The supporting
attacker should join the ball-carrying attacker around
his back so as to make his run difficult to track
Decisive finishes, dont hesitate
In 3v2 wide player should attack one defender. Try to creat same situation with the overlap in 2v1.

3v2 on small sided pitch with mini goal at each end
Yellows start 3v2 against the blues using the black joker
If yellows score they get another ball and attack again
If they miss or blues win possession they now attack the yellows using the black
Try to bring out same principle from previous practice- work on the overlap and locking the defenders feet.
Rotate players regularly

Organisation:
Yellows play out from the back with a back 4 and midfield 2
Blues defend with a front 3 and midfield 1
Yellows try and play through gates near half way.
If they manage to play through gates, the two blue target players join attack and counter attack against the yellows while they are out of position.
To begin yellow fbs must touch red cone once ball is played to target players before they can make recovery runs back in, This is to help emphasize opposition fbs joining in the attack like on the weekend
Progress to remove this constraint.
Coaching Points:
Attack at pace, take advantage of overload
Try and create 2v1 situation as per previous practices
