CB - 9 - Winger (5 mins)

Focus + Session design

  • Focusing on build up play in a 7v7
  • Really important that 9 is ball-side and pinning opposition CB
  • Really important that CM plays on the opposite side to the ball in build up to open passing line into the 9 or to receive open and play (Video 2)
  • Really important that wingers are touchline wide are positioned in-between CM and 9. Cant be in line of 9, that's space to arrive into after set off the 9. 

Coaching detail

  • Weight of pass from CB 
  • 9 to pin, set and spin
  • Wide player to time run, as ball passes you, that's your trigger to advance into space
