Use multiple fields have players play 1v1 to gates. start with dribble through gate to score. Initiate game by defender passing ball into attacker with a difficult lofted ball, switch sides after a few minutes so that both teams get a chance to attack.
- Progress to making the players dribble or pass through the gate to score
Coaching points:
- read flight of ball
- lofted ball or bad touch pressure hard: sprint & close down
- No Shots: engage the attackers body upon big touch

separate the kids into two teams. Each team sets up at one end of the field in two lines (off the field). Coach plays a ball in to one team. the initial ball will be lofted and difficult to control. the first player in each group wil come in to play making a 2v2 game to large goals with goalkeepers. Any time a goal is scored, the ball goes out of bounds the players on the field go off to the outside and new players begin a new game. Switch which team you're playing the ball to.

- Read flight of ball and know whether to press the player before they get the ball or to anticipate a poor first touch
- second player cheats a little higher and tighter anticipating high press and poor touches
- when there's clear possession review proper and smart pressure & cover
- read cues of when to press hard and when to drop into position

In a 4v4 setting, split the teams up evenly and have 2 goals Each with a goalkeeper. Coach initiate the game with a difficult pass making for a pressure situation. Once the game is initiated all four attackers try to score while 4 defenders try to win the ball and counter attack. Players cannot score unless they are in the attacking half of the field.
Based on the situations players need to read whether or not it's time to press hard or drop back, stay compact, and hold a line of confrontations
