Organisation (Practice Layout & Transition)
Using only half of a pitch, requiring 1 goal.
To conduct this drill you require at least 4 defenders, 1 goalkeeper & 4 attackers/midfielders, however I've based this drill on my squad and we've used 7 defenders, 2 keepers & 7 attackers/midfielders
Bibs for the defenders.
At least 4 Balls.
Zero cones or flats required.
See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
Challenges, Conditions or Targets:
Once you've completed the drill a few times then add a scoring system to the drill (1 point if the attackers score a goal & 1 point for the defenders/keeper for a save/block or defender winning the ball)
Once you've completed the drill a few times then add a scoring system to the drill (1 point in the attakers score a goal & 1 point for the defenders/keeper for a save/block or defender winning the ball)
Additionally if it's too easy for the defenders you can add another attacker to the mix to make it 4 against 2.
See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
Adaptations (Progressions & Regressions):
You can add another defender to the drill too make it 4 against 3.
You can also move the starting positions of the attackers to the wings to allow them to attack from a different angle.
You could also make them pass the ball at least twice and only score from outside the box.
The rules that you can introduce are endless.
See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
Adaptations (Progressions & Regressions):
you can easily adapt this drill into a Small sided game by having your defenders play against your attackers.
It's a good test for both teams.
Challenges, Conditions or Targets:
You can start off with limiting it to only 3 touches.
then you can relax the rules fort he defenders but still keep the attackers to 3 touches.

Adaptations (Progressions & Regressions):
The purpose of this drill is attackers V's defenders with the attackers having to advantage.
The defenders start off with too the side of the goals and play a long ball to any the three attackers on the half way line, once they've received the ball then the defenders can come out to defend the attackers who are acting on a counter attack.
The attackers have to complete at least one pass whilst attacking forward (meaning they cannot shoot straight away).
Once the ball is out of touch or the defenders win the ball then they start again.
Challenges, Conditions or Targets:
