Football/Soccer Session (Academy Sessions): MIFC Girls Mini Phase 18/03/2025 (Start Time: 2025-03-18 17:00:00)

Activation (10 mins)

Set Up

• As above

Drill

• Each player must partner up with someone from the opposition
• The coach will play throw a ball onto the pitch
• The players can move anywhere on the pitch
• Once a team have completed 3 passes, the next pass is a killer pass!
• If your opposition partner receives the ball, then you must leave the pitch
• Keep playing until 1 team has no further players left on the pitch

• This drill is all around sticking with your player and trying to prevent them from getting the ball

Progression

• Balls are now on the floor.
• If a player scores, the player that was marking must leave the pitch.
• The game continues but the player that scored is now frozen from being able to score. 
• They can still be involved in the game though.

Position Specific 2 (10 mins)

Set Up

• Place flat discs across the pitch as illustrated to split the pitch into 4 zones
• White discs to indicate the halfway line and red discs to indicate the left and right sides of the pitch
• 4v4
• Coach on the side lines with spare balls

Drill

• CB can move left to right and up to the halfway line, but not beyond
• LM can move up and down the pitch but not cross into the right hand side of the pitch
• RM can move up and down the pitch but not cross into the left hand side of the pitch
• ATT can move left to right and back to the halfway line, but not beyond
