Football/Soccer Session (Academy Sessions): Xander Christian - Musical Soccer

Set-Up (10 mins)

• Soccer Balls are placed in middle
• Players line up on the outside
• Make sure there is one less ball for every player (if there are 7 players, have 6 soccer balls)
• Each round, the DEFENDER is eliminated, and a ball is taken away. (OTHER COACH can play different game or do skills)
• There will be a winner
  

• Players run on outside of grid
• When Coach yells GO, players run into the middle to secure a ball
  
• When the ball is secured, they must successfully get outside of the grid, this marks them SAFE
• If they DO NOT get the ball, they can WIN BACK the ball by taking it from somebody and getting outside the grid with it

• Keep the ball in control with speed
• Work on both feet
• Listening skills

• Instead of saying GO, can be a KEY WORD

• Instruct them to use ONLY their right or left foot

• Add a skill move when you receive the ball.
• Set up GATES to dribble through

Phase 2

Defender tries to win back the ball before the runners escape the grid. Loser is knocked out.
