Objective: Looking to advance the ball quickly in 3v1, 3v2 situations:
Player Actions: Technical Speed: Receiving, Passing, Movement off Ball, Adapting Body Shape.
Concepts: Recognizing Pressure, creating lanes, moving defenders to stretch defense, generate free player
Set-Up
- Area of play: 15L x 10W with 2 yard zone for goal (x2)
- # of players: 2 teams split evenly (2 groups each team)
- Balls with next wide player who will begin next play.
Organization
- Games 1 & 2: 3 v 1
- ATT: (Blue) starts with (W)ide player-who begins play by passing to (S)supporting player-who is out of grid like a Neutral Player). S returns pass to W who adjusts to be able to beat mannequin just by positioning. Then 2v1 play is live with (D) working to not allow ATTacking team to possess ball into zone (by pass or dribble) . IF Def wins ball, can play to any player on outside (DEF or ATT.) Players rotate to ensure all play all roles
- (H) player Hold space in front, clear lane for player with ball, or provide support depending on the pressure. (D) must start from behind
Coaching Points
- Attacking team: Maintaining (H)eight to hold space
- Ability to move opponent thru ball movement, generating a free player.
- Bump back when not able to go forward.
Progression
- Games 3 & 4: Both Teams switch grids: Remove mannequin > add a defender > and Supporting player can join.

Objective: Improve the ability to find the furthest free player to penetrate and advance into final 1/3. (Quickly if we can get numbers forward
Set-Up
- Area of play: 35 W x 45 L
- # of players: 5v5+3
- 2 cones to create a 15yard zone for central Neutral player
- Balls with Coach or extra player(s) to serve into team in possession
Organization (BEGIN by emphasizing importance of DEF to deny forward pass)
- 2 teams playing 6v6+3 inside playing area (see animation).
- Attacking team in possession will receive a ball in from coach. No touch or pass restriction.
- Attacking team looks to find the central target and use 3rd player run to receive final pass into opposite target.
- Central target cannot play directly into opposite target. They can use bounce pass to player facing forward, or turn and find pass to player in advance of the ball..
Coaching Points
- Attacking team should expand horizontally/vertically in order to stretch the defending team.
- Ability to move opponent through ball movement and generate a free player.
- Looking for forward pass as first option into a player furthest in order to unbalance opponent.
- Circulate when not able to go forward.
- Final pass into central target will require timed runs underneath to receive on bounce or penetrating runs to get ahead of the ball.
- DEFENDING: WORK to KEEP TO ONE SIDE and NOT Allow Penetrating Passes
Progression
P: No central neutral player, and attacking team in possession must create the target player prior to transferring ball to opposite target.

BEGIN by emphasizing not allowing penetrating pass. Good defending

- Attacking to big goal (RED) team plays 3-3-1.
- Defending (BLUE) team plays 2-3-2
- Team (Defending) big goal scores by passing ball to target players.
- Team (Attacking) big goal scores by finishing on big goal.
- Attacking team can find the 9 as first option and have no touch or pass restriction. They can play back to neutral players as well.
- Neutral players have 2 touch restriction.
- Defending & attacking teams can send any # of players into Final 1/2.
- If defending team find targets, (+1 point) neutral players can play immediately back into attacking team.

Coaching Points

- Work timing of movement of players off the ball to create options in pockets of space furthest from the next closest defender.
