20 mins
Organization:
2 or 3 fields depending on numbers
2v1
Instructions:
- 2v1 defending team alternates players 1 turn each. Attacking players look for numerical advantage using a 1-2 or wall pass to go around the defender and attack the space towards goal. (2nd post).
- Attacking players 1 pt for a goal, 2 pts if passed to the outside player.
- Defenders 1 pt for kicking ball out and 2 pts if they score.
- Player who took the shot replaces player on the outside, and the player on the outside goes back to the beginning to get ready to attack with a ball.
- Outside players can move up and down the sideline
- Play for 2- 3 minutes and switch roles
Coaching Points/Questions:
- Decisionmaking- How can we identify space/where to play? scanning the field, communicating
- Movement of 2nd attacker to create space and ability to be played into scoring situations.
- Take risks, pass or dribble to reach the final third then see what option is best a pass or shot.
Regressions/Progressions
- P- Add second defender in for more pressure on the attacking team.
- R- Make goals bigger or add 2 pugg nets to help attackers.
