2v1 & 2v2 to the soccer ball
2v1 - If the defender wins the ball, their objective is to try and put the ball in the goal as quick as they can before they get the ball taken away from them. Can the attacking players react on where to go when they win the ball back. Is the best decision to always go towards the soccer ball?
Focus on passing technique each repetition:
Rep 1 - Non-kicking foot next to ball
Rep 2 - Point non-kicking foot at target
Rep 3 - Leg moves back straight
Rep 4 - Locked out angle (Strong leg)
Rep 5 - Toe down w/ laces OR heel down and toe up with instep.
Rep 6 - Follow through w/ kicking foot straight to opponent
6 reps @ 90 seconds of 2v1
2v2 - If the defending team win the ball, they become the attacking team and now they must move to the soccer ball to try and get a point. Rotate groups on every rep.
Focus on Receiving technique each repetition:
- Receiving foot hovering off the ground
- Foot wants to touch middle of soccer ball
6 reps @ 2 minutes.

2 reps @ 30 seconds each (1 each)
Round 2 - Player A with the soccer ball runs away from Player B who does not have a soccer ball. Player B's objective is to count every time they every go chest to chest (1 point). Player A's objective is to make sure that they only show their back to the defender. Player B does not work to win the ball, only to get chest to chest.

Round 3 - Player A must try and win the soccer ball from Player B. Player B's objective is to keep the soccer ball whilst Player A's objective is to win the soccer ball. 4 reps @ 30 seconds each (2 each) [Focus on how to steal the ball versus how to win the ball by kicking it away]
Coaching Points
- What type of touches do you take when you dribble? (Specifics - Big touches if there is space, small touches if in tight area)
- Where should you dribble into?
- How do you know where the space is?
- Where should you be looking? (Specifics - Over shoulders to look for defenders, other players to see where space is)
- Why do we dribble into space?
- Where do we want to stay away from if we have the ball? (Lines - Lines=Defenders)
- What do you do to steal the ball (Drag the ball away from the opponent OR touch the ball away from the opponent)
