15 mins
Organization: 25x25 area for 8-10 players. Within the area, use hoops or cones to create the islands. No balls to start. 2 or more players assigned taggers/sharks (give these players a pinnie). HINT: Have the coach be the shark for the first couple rounds to help players understand the game!
How to Play: Players run around area trying to get to ‘islands’ without being caught by a Shark. If a player is tagged, they become the shark and are given the pinnie. Only 1 player on an island at time. Can only stay on an island for 5 seconds.
Progression 1: Have players and taggers hop on one leg to get from A to B. Be creative with different movements that promote physical literacy. Ask the players for ideas.
Progression 2: Eventually, try adding a ball that players have to dribble around with them. Sharks are trying to steal the ball.

Organization: 25x25 area for 8-10 players. Set up as shown.
How to Play: Start the first round without a ball for players to learn the activity.
Create several island's of colored cones/treasure. Players sail around the ocean looking for islands to find buried treasure on. Players can collect ONE piece of treasure before going to a new (different colored island). How many pieces of treasure can they collect?
Progression 1: Add a ball for players to dribble. Encourage players to stop their ball with their foot before grabbing a piece of treasure.
Progression 2: Add a "crocodile"! If the coach shouts crocodile, they become the crocodile and either try to tag the players (no ball) or steal their ball (if ball has been added). If their ball gets stolen, you must put all your treasure back on an island and start over.
