1v1 w/pressure from behind channels (20 mins)

1v1 channels w/pressure from behind. Teams start in their own channels playing to a team mate who is being put under extrem pressure from behind. Receive, hold, lay it off and go receive again. Switch after 45 seconds, then switch with target players. Progress to looking to turn opponent straight away each time.

Progression - have defender come over from each team. Attacker looks to receive, turn and play to opposite target to get a point. Can play back and get the ball 1st time from target who played ball to you if you can't turn. Switch roles after a minute. Keep track of points for each round.

Instruction points :

- protect the ball

- shoulder check to see where defender is

- receive side on if under extreme pressure & initiate contact

- touch turns when defender gets too tight

- get off at angles when possible, look to face up defender early

- use arms, body to spin or roll defender

- passer needs to recognize side defender is on, play to safe side

1v1 to goals w/ pressure from behind (30 mins)

1v1 w/pressure from behind. Blues attack to start. Take turns attempting to keep the ball and turn defenders to score in opposite goal. defenders can score in Blue's goal if they win the ball. Play for 2 mins & rotate roles. 1 - BOTH players dribble out to diagonal cone & turn. 2 - strike on their goals. 3 - Blue immediately looks to receive ball from partner and turn Red defender to score in Red's goal. Play 2 rounds, switching point of receiving.

Instruction points :

- protect the ball (receive side on if you have to)

- check shoulders to see where defender is

- look to use touch turns to beat defender

- use body & arms to spin or roll defender if they get too close

4v4 SSG w/ target players (25 mins)

4v4 w/ forward & defender locked in to zones. Each team has a designated striker & defender who stay in their zones. Teams must keep possession until they can play into forward. Teams can immediately go support when forward receives ball.

- individual possession

- collective possession/support

- scanning to recognize when to play to target

- open body shape/back foot receiving

- get positioning as ball travels!
