Learning Objectives
To develop passing, possession and creating space.
Description
In a square of 5 yards we play 4v2.
The four players outside the square have a maximun of 2 touches and must maintain possession playing only from outside of the square.
The two defenders inside the square have to intercept the ball. The player who looses possession ball will change roles to become a defender
Coaching Points
1- Create space to find the right position and angle to receive the ball.
2- Improve the speed of play by limiting to 1 touch when possible.
3- It is very important to coach the correct body shape for receiving passes.
4- The 2 defending players must communicate and work together, one closing down the player in possession and the other covering the angle for the pass.

- Area 30x20 yards, divided into 2 equal halves, with goals in each corner.
- 8 players arranged 3 Reds v 2 Blues in one half & 1v1 half in other.

- 2 reds follow pass/run with ball & one blue moves into other half to recreate a 3v2 situation.
- Practice continues as previously described (leaving 1v1 behind)
- If blues win ball, they counter attack as quickly as possible, adding the extra player from side to enhance numbers.
- Practice restarts when play breaks down & ball goes dead.

- Defenders, need to prepare for & plan for counter attack, looking for the quick pass forward or drive to advance play quickly.

- Reds achive 2 sets of consecutive passes (e.g 6), then attack opposite half.
- Remove player from side line & play 3v2 in one half & 1v2 in other.

Ball Manipulation - Moves / Feints (30 mins)
Objective
To develop ball control and practicing different attacking moves/feints.
Description
In a square of approximately 10 yards we place a circle or in this case position cones in the centre. Players are separated into groups in the corners of the square.
On the coaches command, players dribble towards the centre of the square perform a feint before taking the ball away to the LEFT, RIGHT, RETURN or STRAIGHT to the opposite end.
The different feints and change of position is pre-determined by the coach.
Coaching Points
1- Keep the ball close to the feet.
2- Make many touches with the ball.
3- Dribbling with the ball should be done with soft touches.
4- Move/Feint - exaggerate the move making a sharp movement in a different direction.
