3v2 for the reds from left to right, let this run withoutcoaching the reds. Just make sure the opposition are realistic and adhere tothe in possession topic of creating and exploiting overloads. If you are onyour own or use your assistant coach. Also make sure your own blues defendcorrectly and aren’t looking to cheat by staying high knowing the next ball iscoming into the practice from the coach

Lastly we finsih with a 4v3 for the blues going right to left. This isanother opportunityto coach the blueds on the principle of howand where the creat & exploit everloads. Work with them to utilisethe spare player and withing the 4v3 look to create litlle 2v1smaybe by encouraging overlaps / underlaps

Welsh Way Principles
Understand when and how to exploit a numerical advantageagainst the opposition.
Organisation / Area Size
Area size is 36m x 44 (2 x 18 Yard boxes).
The 2 red players on the outside numbered are approximatelyin line with a penalty spot.
Explanation
Red 1 will receive a ball from the coach and go into a 1v1with the blue GK. Then the blue team are then given a ball and are 2 v 1towards the goal to the left. As soon as the ball goes dead a 3rd ball is fedinto one of the wide players (Red) to create a 3v2 in the opposite directionleft to right. The original Red defender becomes one of the 3 attackers. Whenthe ball dies the coach feeds in a final ball to the blues who are in a 4v3attacking the goal on the left
How
The coach / tutor is to work with ONE team only, in thiscase the blues on how the exploit the reds and utilise the numerical advantage. If the opposition, the reds in this case, win possession back at any time theycan drive into the opposite goal within a managed countdown but MUST return totheir own half immediately. They will carry on the focus of the practice whichis creating and exploiting overloads in their favour but not be coached.
Coach 1: Work with the blues to create / exploit theoverload / opposition & maintain realism when the blues are defending
Coach 2: Maintain realism of the reds when they attack, ensure defensive realism when they are out of possession
Swap roles at ten minutes
Tutors to speak to the players terminally at half time /Q&A / utilising different coaching styles
Challenges, Conditions & Targets
Be brave with the overload / numerical advantage andencourage the players to be creative in how the manipulate the defensiveplayers. Encourage creativity in 1v1s and the 2v1 / 3v2 / 4v3. Challenge theplayers to come up with the solutions to how the beat the defensive playerswhilst guiding them via different intervention strategies. Potentially limitthe players touches / time on the ball especially in the attacking half. Youmay as the coach want to manage a countdown to make the practice as realisticas possible especially if the opposition are getting success regularly andeating into your coaching time. The coach is to encourage players to stay'onside' in the attacking half
Key Points
In possession: Find the spare player

Make the pitch big - Width and Depth in Attack
Fast Passes and forward movement to create 2 v 1 or 3 v 2
Overlap/Underlap
