If ball is played into 8
- 8 opens up into the wide area, if the 8 presses to block the middle and turn is good it is a 2v1 against the fullback with the winger
- 6 runs in-between midfield and defence to support and make it a 3v2 if blue 8s press is good to stay with red 8, this also can move the blue 6 from protecting the middle and we can then switch play through the 8 moving in to achieve an overload on the other side with the winger and 5
- If the blues match the reds and there is a 3v3 in the shaded area, the 9 moves into the area to create an overload and also attract the defence across to allow for the overload to also be created through the switch of play

If the 8 cannot receive the ball wide to turn and play forward
- The ball is played into the 6 to set it to the 8
- The opposite 8 makes a cross pitch run across the blind side of the blue 8 to create the overload in the shaded area this time
- The 9 drops more to help create overload
- Opposite winger occupies role of the 9
- 6 can also make a 3rd man run to score in the area once escaping the wide area using the overload

SSG
Literally the exact same but an added goal keeper, from a technical perspective, the 8s can now probably receive wider and tighter to the tapered line

Specific Practice - Create and Exploit Overload
Shape: REDs 4-3-3 (no 2nd centre half and fullbacks)
Blues 4-3-3 (without front 3)
Shape means blues have overload in the middle naturally so want to create the overload out wide to create movement to play final ball into box to score
Blues told to press ball and cover space, if they win the ball back score in minis
